HOW TO “PLOP” CURLY HAIR

In this video, I show you how I “plop” my curly hair. I just recently started doing this and I’m not sure why I’ve waited so long. The results are really great!

“Plopping” is simply a way to speed up the drying process on curly hair. It’s also done on wavy and transitioning hair to help maintain a nice curl pattern. There are many ways to do this but the way I’m showing  just requires a t-shirt and some patience.

After washing and applying your styling products, use an old t-shirt to ‘plop’. You don’t have to wait until it’s 100% dry just enough to absorb some of the excess moisture from your styling products. I normally plop for 30-90 min and then let my hair air dry the rest of the time. You’d be surprised at how shiny and defined they are after you remove your t-shirt! Watch this video for a full demo on how to “plop”.
