Budget Friendly Face Masks

Author: London Hamilton

My skin type is typically normal but with the raging heat lately, my skin dries out quickly. I’m a college student and walking to class back and forth constantly through the dry heat takes a toll on my face. Trying to take an inexpensive route, I decided to go to my local Sally’s Beauty Supply and pick up a few facial masks. Facial masks are designed differently to either cleanse, hydrate, draw out impurities and exfoliate the skin. Sometimes women neglect their skin especially with their busy schedules. Facial masks can give your skin the pick me up that it needs. The masks I tested included:

Dermactin-TS Facial Sheet Mask ($2.50)
Dermactin-TS Facial Sheet Mask ($2.50)
Freeman Honeydew & Chamomile Sleeping Mask($1.99)
Freeman Honeydew & Chamomile Sleeping Mask ($1.99)

Queen Helene Olive Oil Masque($5.49)

Instead of using a facial cleanser in the shower as I usually do, I cleaned my face with a warm cloth before applying each mask. The Dermactin Facial Moisturizing Sheet Mask is like a wet cloth to your face. The cloth fully forms your face and applies wet but eventually dries. It leaves a fresh scent and once it dries you remove and rinse your skin with warm water. This mask gave my face a natural glow look and a boost of hydration. The Honeydew and Chamomile sleeping mask is a cream base and dries in about 30 minutes. I left the mask on and woke up the next morning and washed it off with warm water. My face felt calm, soft, rejuvenated and smelled like honey .The “Queen Helene Mask” didn’t suit my skin. Once I washed away the mask my felt dry and irritated. A numerous amount of little bumps appeared on my face as soon as the mask was off.

After testing out all three masks, my end result was that the “Dermactin Facial Moisturizing Sheet Mask” and the “Freeman Honeydew and Chamomile Sleeping Mask” were the most beneficial to my skin. I was very pleased with the results of my skin once the masks were rinsed away. I would suggest these masks for dry skin types or if your skin is feeling dehydrated. For the “Dermactin Facial Moisturizing Sheet Mask” and the “Freeman Honeydew and Chamomile Sleeping Mask” I didn’t feel the need to apply moisturizer afterwards, which was a boost! Facial masks will never steer you in the wrong direction and these budget friendly ones are perfect for revitalizing the skin!
