Ouidad Curl Recovery: Melt-Down Extreme Repair Mask

Every so often, my curlBox subscription sends me a solid gold item. In this particular case, it’s the Ouidad Curl Recovery: Melt-Down Extreme Repair Mask. I wanted to post this article sooner but I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t dreaming. Recommended for tight curly and kinky hair types, it provided  instant gratification and left my hair extremely soft.

This mask has gained great reviews, earning Allure’s Best of Beauty Award Winner 2013 and Naturally Curly’s Editors Choice 2014 Winner. Why? In my experience, it takes your curls from a tangled, hot-mess to soft, luxurious and tangle-free. According to the Ouidad Website:

I followed the directions exactly as instructed by applying the mask to my damp hair. I continued to comb through my hair with my wide-toothed comb realizing about 10 seconds in that I could easily use my fingers to detangle. The slip-factor is ridiculous! Instantly, my hair felt softer and it was as though my curls untangled themselves. I waited the full 15 minutes but honestly, I don’t think I even needed to wait that long. I didn’t feel the warming sensation that it claimed but I will agree that the product melts right into the hair shaft providing moisture and nourishment. After styling and air-drying my curls, they appeared healthy, more defined and shinier!

The Verdict: This will be a repeat item in my shopping cart. My curlBox provided the 2 oz. size but the 6 oz. will be worth every penny.
